Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich is President of Bangkok Bank, the 7th largest Southeast Asian bank and Thailand’s largest bank and leader in corporate, business and international banking.
Bangkok Bank, which celebrated its 80th anniversary on December 1 2024, was the first Thai bank to establish an international network — opening its first overseas branch in Hong Kong in 1954. It has built a long-standing presence across Southeast Asia, China and Japan, as well as in major financial centers. Its branch presence extends across 14 economies and comprises the largest overseas network of any Thai bank. International subsidiaries include PermataBank, one of the 10 largest banks in Indonesia, Bangkok Bank Berhad in Malaysia, and Bangkok Bank (China).

Mr. Chartsiri holds Master’s Degrees in Management and Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
