Executive Director, ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE)

Dato’ Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood is the Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), where he provides strategic leadership in advancing regional energy cooperation and supporting ASEAN Member States in implementing the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) towards a secure, sustainable, and inclusive energy future for the region.

He brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the energy sector, spanning national power utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy consultancies, and regulatory institutions in Malaysia and Australia. His professional background encompasses a wide range of technical and leadership roles, including construction engineer, project manager, systems planning engineer, power system study specialist, technical advisor, and regulator.

Dato’ Razib began his career at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and later gained significant experience in the private sector and international energy consultancy. He has held several senior leadership positions at the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) of Malaysia, including leading Electricity Market Operations and serving as Chief Operating Officer, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. He also previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Nuclear Power Corporation under the Prime Minister’s Department.
